Chi Kung (Qigong)
Chi Kung, also known as Qigong, literally means ‘qi work’. This is an internal energy practice that stimulates the flow of chi (qi) throughout the human body. This helps a person achieve a natural balance. Therefore, it is a process of transformation that promotes mental and physical health.
Chi Kung practice has been proven to improve the respiratory system, limb strength, joint flexibility and general balance.
Practising Chi Kung slowly relaxes and calms the mind. Concentrating on the exercise helps to promote the growth and repair of nerve cells.
Chi Kung also uses the breath for special purposes, such as fighting or healing. To develop chi (qi), there are different breathing techniques used to achieve this goal. Over time, Chi Kung exercises have been used for chi (qi) development. Unfortunately, the most important and least discussed aspect of Chi Kung is the use of the Dantian (energy centre).
