Welcome To The Red Dragon

At The Red Dragon School, old Chinese tradition meets new wellness. Led by skilled Taiji (Tai Chi) Instructor and Judge Pamela Laoshi, our school focuses on delivering high-quality Taiji teaching that fits the various needs of our students. We emphasise technique, mindfulness and community, providing a welcoming environment that encourages physical and mental balance, personal growth and self-exploration, where learners of all levels can do well.

Our goal is to help people of any age and ability to nurture mind, body and spirit wellness through Taiji practice. We are eager to share the ancient practice of Taiji with those around us.

Our aim is to be a top centre for Taiji learning and training. We want to motivate and support our students on their path to wellness and self-betterment, fostering a lifelong practice that increases health, energy and inner calm. By dedicating ourselves to Taiji, we hope to positively influence our students and the wider community.

The Red Dragon teaches Taiji Quan (Tai Chi Chuan) and Qigong (Chi Kung) in the traditional Chinese manner, not merely as a health exercise but also including martial arts elements. The advantages are vast. Developing a strong mind, a healthy body and a positive spirit contributes to a healthy and balanced life.

Our Mantra is “EAT. SLEEP. TAIJI. REPEAT”.  We believe Taiji is not just something you do, it is who you are, it becomes a way of life.  So we never stop practising.  And why stop something that is ultimately so good for you?

TAIJI QUAN

Taiji Quan (Tai Chi Chuan) is considered one of the Chinese culture’s most precious treasures. An ancient internal holistic martial art (internal kungfu) that strengthens mind, body and spirit that embodies self-defense techniques.

QIGONG

Qigong (Chi Kung) is the health practice to stimulate and circulate chi throughout the human body, both to improve and maintain one’s health, energy levels and to develop one’s power for martial arts.

How Our Students Feel About Their Tai Chi Journey!

I’m still new to taiji but I feel that I notice a strengthening and clarity of the mind during and after each class. While I’m practicing, it feels as though everything that isn’t in the present moment falls away. As someone who has challenges with anxiety and overthinking, I really value the experience and I can feel that it is positively transformative for my mind and life force energy.
